woot! I had an idea.

Who can submit to my print zine that will be out at christmas?

It's going to be about parenting as a survivor.

If you have had mental health issues, drug issues abuse issues, your input is welcomed. If you are worried about legalities or identity, your anonymity can be preserved.

What challenges do you face?

How has being a parent helped you to understand and overcome your own negative patterns?

You can make as long (up to three wordprocessed doublespaced pages) or short a submission as you feel necessary. Essays, comics, artwork, poems etc all accepted. I will try to find space for all submissions.

BC, I'm not on your friends list, but we have a lot of mutual friends. I might be kind of interested in writing something for your zine, but it depends on if this fits the bill: a lot of my "issues" (anxiety, possible ptsd) are actually caused by parenthood for me. My kid has had a lot of medical problems and we've been through a lot of trauma with him, trauma that has left me pretty fragile. I'm wondering if a piece on, maybe not parenting as a survivor but surviving parenting might fit here? If not, it's okay, I understand.
